Abstract

Sustained release tablets of Rosuvastatin were developed to prolong r e l e a s e o f time leading to an increase in drug
bioavailability.Tablets are prepared by direct compression technique using polymers HPMC K15M,HPMC K50M and
ethylcellulose.Tablets were evaluated for their physical characteristics viz.,hardness, thickness, friability and weight variation,
drug content and floating properties.Gas generating agent plays an important role in floating lagtime and drug release. The
best formulation subjected for kinetic treatment.i.e., zero order, first order, pepas, Higuchi, and Hixsoncro well. The RValues
are 0.9366, 0.9364, 0.9680, 0.9974 and 0.9283 respectively. The optimized batches were found to best able at 400C/75% RH
for a period of two months.
